~Early Life~
Claude Debussy was born on August 22nd, 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye France. He was the oldest and lived in a family with 5 brothers and sisters altogether. His father was named Manuel-Achille Debussy, and he supported his family by selling china and crockery in his won shop. His mother, Victorine Manoury Debussy helped out her family with her job as a seamstress. After living in France for a while, the whole family moved to Paris in 1867. However, their time lived there was not long, as in 1870, his now pregnant mother wanted to seek refugee from the war happening during that time; the Franco-Prussian war. They moved in with their aunt, and there, Claude began his musical career by beginning to learn how to play the piano when he was seven. When he was 10, he entered the Paris Conservatoire, a school that taught music and dance.
He spent 11 years there and also learned music and worked alongside some of the most important composers of his time. Even though Claude was a very talented person, he was a guy who loved arguing and experimenting, which led him to many of his greatest songs, such as Claire de Lune. He married to three women before finally marrying one and having a successful life with her. The women he had married included Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a wealthy duchess, Nadezhda von Meck, a close friend of his and Thérèse Roger. Finally he married his real love, Sigismond Bardac.
He then had a daughter named Claude-Emma who was born on October 30th, though an exact year was not ever found correctly. She was the composer's only child and also after so much heartbreak that had gone on through his life, he had finally gotten a family. His wife had attempted suicide earlier, and was later disowned by her family, but the baby seemed to bring them closer together. Claude-Emma lived a year longer than her father and died of diphtheria. Claude Debussy had died of rectal cancer, after he had a series and history of excessive bleeding. He died in the midst of World War I and is buried in Passy Cemetery with his wife and daughter.

This is Claude Debussy shortly before he was married to Sigismond Bardac
He had been in love with so many women before, and one after another ended up in the women not having a good relationship with Claude Debussy despite all of their good intentions. One women became pregnant with another man, with one woman he was threatened, and with another, she just did not love him after awhile. Finally in this picture, he is pictured in his tuxedo just before he married Sigismond Bardac who he enjoyed a good life with and had one child.
